Botticelli and Pohl, Architects, was established in 1994 in the practice of residential architecture on Nantucket. The firm's principals, Lisa Botticelli and Ray Pohl, focus on creatively meeting the clients' desires for the interior layout and character of their homes and reconciling those desires with the island's traditions of subdued exteriors and exclusive use of wood as the only exterior building material. The firm's clients come to the island from all over the United States and the world.

Lisa Botticelli and Ray Pohl met in 1982 while studying architecture at the Rhode Island School of Design, received Bachelors of Architecture degrees in 1983 and 1985, were married in 1989, and have been living, working and raising two children on Nantucket since 1991.

Botticelli and Pohl, Architects, while focusing on residential projects, works in a range of scales and styles, from substantial new houses to renovations of antique houses to additions on more modest homes. Client satisfaction through creative and beautiful solutions to clients' needs is the firm's ultimate goal. The firm's familiarity for and understanding of Nantucket Island's unique architectural and natural heritage is a vital part of the firm's success.
